CAR2GO in Rome

Postby MarziaP » Tue Mar 18, 2014 12:36 am

HI everyone!
Just wanted to tell you about this new service offered in Rome since March 15th..
If you have a driving licence, but no car, or want to get into the city centre with a car (ZTL) there is this new carsharing service called car2go.
HOW IT WORKS:
Basically, you can find the car that is closest to you through a phone app, swipe your membership card to open the car, fill out a brief survey (about the conditions of the car), and start driving.
The cost is of 0.29€ per minute (which is much more convenient than a cab!) and if you register by March 31st they will give you 30 minutes for free, and you won't have to pay the initial fee of 19€!
You can park the car wherever you want, including ZTL zones.
Here are all the details:

Read carefully before registering ;)
Right now there are about 300 cars available in all of Rome, but by April the cars will be 500... I already tried it, and it is very easy to find a car in the university area/centre :)
